Survey of Adult Basic and GED Educators

The IAACE Board of Directors would like your input regarding how funding and other challenges have impacted your programs. The board is also reviewing bylaws and our mission as an organization at this time. Please respond to the following questions and feel free to contact board members with your concerns. Thank you for all you do in the state of Indiana.

1.) How have budget cuts affected your programs?

2.) What did you reduce in your program to balance your budget?

.)If there additional cuts in funding, how will that likely  impact your program?

4.) Do you have any creative means of fundraising that you would share with other adult educators?

5.) Would you participate in regional gathererings: to share your concerns, to share best practices or to share ideas for radical activist support of adult education in the near future?

1. The program has limited accessibility due to cuts in hours. 2. Staff was cut, as well as materials and supplies. 3. Additional cuts in funding place existence of the program in jeopardy. 4. Utilize students for public speaking and fundraising. They want to help. 5. I would participate and be willing to facilitate discussion.

GED ON TV was eliminated from the state budget in 2008. Only the efforts of volunteers and the generosity of IAACE have saved it from disappearing altogether

The GED Testing Service, a joint venture of the American Council on Education and Pearson, is the sole developer for the GED test. The test can be taken by paper or on computer, but tests must be taken in person. Thanks.
